JADE CORK YOGA MAT

The surface of the Jade Cork mat is harvested sustainably from cork trees in Portugal. Trees are not cut down, but after the tree is 25 years old, the bark of the tree is removed. This is repeated every 9 years, with the bark regenerating in the interim - absorbing additional CO2 during this process.

To Clean: Cork mats can be washed with soap and water then rinsed with water. Hang inside to dry. Store rolled with cork side out.

Store your yoga mat in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Rotate your mat and use different areas to prevent wear and tear due to repetitive moves at the same location on your mat.

Clean your yoga mat as needed.

Avoid exposure to extreme temperature like a hot car or a cold garage.

JadeYoga evolved from Jade Industries an oriengtal rug business that also created natural rubber rug mats. JadeYoga began in 2000 after learning of the fundamental problem with most yoga mats on the market at that time - they were slippery. As Jade yoga was an we were already making natural rubber rug pads, we approached the problem from that angle and developed Harmony, the first natural rubber yoga mat.

Second, they are committed to giving back to the earth with every product sold. Wanting to leave the earth a better place than when we found it. As Jade mats come from trees, they decided to give back by planting a tree for every mat sold. And since 2006, through their partnership with Trees for the Future,they have done just that, planting over One Million trees so far.

Third, they make the Harmony mat in the United States (with imported, non-Amazon, natural rubber). With U.S. based production, they can be sure of what is going into their mats – as well as how workers are treated. “American made” still means a lot. They can be assured of compliance with US environmental laws, US consumer safety laws, US worker safety and US wage and hour laws. It also means quality. As a family owned company they do not have to answer to shareholders and can put our customers and our employees ahead of profits.

Fourth, through their “Community Partners” program they help people and organizations bring yoga to those who might benefit from it, but might not otherwise have a chance to try - from schools to prisons and from hospitals to shelters.

Fifth, there are many causes and organizations they support. Every Earth Day a portion of their sales goes to an environmental group their community helps select and on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, they give a portion of their sales to help support abused children. From time to time they release special colored mats to raise awareness and funds for other causes. Such as raising money for breast cancer awareness, education, research and support. Raising funds for autism and ovarian cancer causes.
